If you take a 3 year gap between high school and college how does it work?

I graduated high school with a core 40 ,but not the best gpa.I was wondering how does it work for when I apply to after taking a few gap years.

Hi there! If you took a few gap years, you'll likely want to retake the SAT/ACT if you can. You'll need to reach out to your high school for transcripts and rec letters, and it may also help if you have an extra letter from someone you've worked with closely during your time off. If your GPA was not the best in high school, but you've taken some outside courses since then and have done well, you'll want to mention them. You'll also want to make sure you elaborate on how you spent your gap years in your essays and extracurriculars.
