Hello! I was wondering what AP classes I should take in high school, so these are my list so far ~
9th - No AP classes offered for 9th grade
10th - AP Psychology
11th - AP English Lang, AP US History
12th - AP English Lit, AP Calc AB, AP Chemistry, AP Comparative Government and Politics
Self-Study - AP Microeconomics (this isn't offered at my school, so I plan to self-study it)
How many AP classes do you plan do/have taken your whole high school year? Also, do you think these AP classes are good or...?
I think your classes look good! I'm taking a lot of the same ones too. What do you plan to go into?
My dream school is UCLA, so I plan to (hopefully double) major in communications and economics/business economics if I do get in. For the other colleges that provide a Marketing major, I plan to go into that :) I also have a HUGE interest in journalism, advertising, marketing, writing, etc
seems like you have a diverse set of classes, with a focus on maybe the humanities / social studies. I wonder though, why did you choose comparative government over regular government? Are you just more interested or maybe your school doesn't offer it?
my school has a high school guide for classes and based on that, Comparative Government seems more appealing to me because I'm interested in learning about how the world works and such. My school does offer US Government AP, but I decided to go with Comparative. And yes, I do plan to (if i get into UCLA) double major (hopefully) in communications and economics/business economics if I do get in. For the other colleges that provide a Marketing major, I plan to go into that :) I also have a HUGE interest in journalism, advertising, marketing, writing, etc. I also plan to join the school newspaper in 10th grade, since I can't in 9th grade, and our newspaper is very well known throughout the whole school, and hopefully I can obtain a leadership position.
Good luck on your efforts! It's great that you have a plan.
I think Comparative is a great choice opposed to US- you can apply the class so much more to your interests in journalism, writing, and advertising by having a more rounded understanding of other countries' policies. I think it will give you a better worldview that you can write about, and you can keep that information with you for whatever you do.
If you don't need/want to take to many stick to core subject ones and some that are close to your desired major. Meaning if you want to major in psyche you should probably take AP psyche.
