Definitely!

In college admissions, every component matters, especially if you are an international student who needs funding! With a 32% acceptance rate, Scripps College is a competitive college to get into. The essay is where you can differentiate yourself from other applicants who have similar grades to you.

Your essay shows the admissions officers what you value the most, your personality, and can help prove English proficiency (since you are intl). They want to hear your authentic "voice". I would recommend using the resources on collegevine to begin your essay writing process. College Essay Guy is a great resource as well!

Scripps College listed their essay writing tips on their website. It is a great place for you to start:

Absolutely I think if you have an essay that makes you stand out from other applicants, it will help you get in

To piggyback off of mike Scripps Common Data Set lists essays as important which alongside gpa and extracurriculars among others are the most important aspect of applications though great essays by themselves won't get you admitted yo need a holistic application.

Hope this helps!
