Independent Projects
Answered

Hello y'all!

I'm currently interested in doing an AI project that helps classify some medical imaging, and I was hoping to get my research published in a journal (something like IYNA). However, I'm thinking to major in Aeronautical/Astronautical Engineering or Astrophysics. Where would I put this on my college applications? Would it be a hobby or something else?

Also, does anyone have any suggestions for places where I can do research related to my major?

Thanks!

So I think it will make the most sense to list the work you do for the research under the activities section. Then, if you decide you need it, in the additional information section you can include more details about the research and possibly a very brief excerpt of the research. I would avoid making it overly technical if possible as well.

Try this links as a place to start for possible research: https://www.pathwaystoscience.org/Discipline.aspx?sort=ENG-Aerospace_Aerospace%20Engineering. It is very difficult to get internships/research opportunities in general and I would imagine even more difficult for the fields you are interested in. Good luck!
