School Ranking
Answered

Do all high schools give your "school ranking" if you ask? Or do some schools genuinely not record that data.

Good question!

Universities are generally aware that all schools are not the same. When your counselor submits your school report, the school will get familiar with the operation of your school and realize that your school doesn't rank students. This will also be evident when they don't see it on your transcript. This will not disadvantage you in any way. Your GPA and standardized test scores carry more weight.

To directly answer your question, if your school does not rank, I doubt that they will change to facilitate you alone. That might be too much work.

Good luck in your future endeavors!

Some of the more prestigious/competitive high schools do not do school ranking because everyone is so competitive that someone with a 3.9 GPA might be in the have a very bad ranking because everyone at that school is so competitive. I actually go to one of these schools (ranked #14th in the US) and I think there is a reasonable reason for not doing it.

Some schools don't rank students, I'm not sure how to get the ranking -still trying to figure it out myself- but your counselor should know or they might update the ranking list later on!
