Hi. I am planning on applying to National Young Arts program in the writing category and some other poetry competitions. If I were to be one of the winners of the National Young Arts program, is that a spike and something that would make me stand out from other applicants?
Hi, I'm going to move this over to the general Admissions Advice community, because the question isn't Harvard specific. Best of luck with NYA!
Winning a national competition is good, can add value, and can be a push if you are on the edge, but it will not be the reason you get in. Too many people win national competitions every year, but it is a good thing if you win.
Winning a national contest definitely would be a good spike! Even if you don’t win, this passion could be demonstrated as a spike if you craft your essay(s) very well. You got this!
