I am contemplating whether or not to apply to a direct entry program. I am seeking the PA profession, however, will I be at a possible disadvantage if I go the direct entry route? Do you recommend going to a four year university then applying to a two year pa program? Or is direct entry a better and easier route.
If you know that the PA profession is what you want to do then you should apply for the direct-entry program. I'm not sure what you mean by being at a possible disadvantage. Do you mean in terms of being accepted into one? Career prospects? A direct entry program will be more competitive to get into and you'll need to maintain certain grades (so I guess this is a disadvantage) but it can save time, money, and stress if you know you'll automatically be accepted into a PA program. You also typically have less flexibility with a PA program so if you're hoping to take electives in college, study abroad, and thing like that you might have a more difficult time than if you want to a 4 year school.
