August vs October SAT

So, as the title suggests, I can't decide between the two

What do you guys think or recommend?

Have you been studying and do you feel prepared? If so, August probably makes sense. If not, October probably is better since you'll have been back in school for a bit and hopefully that helps you feel more prepared. But honestly? There isn't going to be a huge difference between the tests and it doesn't really matter much which one you take.

BUT, if this is going to be your first time taking the test then I would recommend August so you can take it again in October if needed. This advice is assuming you are a rising senior.

I already registered for the October SAT. Even if I don't get a great score, I guess I can take it again in November/December and still manage to apply to Regular Decision, right?

Unless your school offers additional test dates you only can take the December SAT as an international student unfortunately. And while December will be fine it's cutting it really close and in the event something unexpected happens which cause you to miss the test the other test dates will be too late. https://collegereadiness.collegeboard.org/sat/register/international
