Answered

Hi!! I am an international student trying to get into a US university. I don't have any AP because my school and my country did not offer that. Do I have any disadvantages because of that?

Thank you!

You don't have any disadvantages here. Colleges will only assess you on your coursework in comparison to the courses that were offered at your school. They want to see that you challenged yourself with the available courses you have at your school, whether that be honors or advanced. You won't be looked down upon because your school did not have the same resources available. Hope this helps! Good luck on applications

Hi! I'm a french student applying to the us and I've looked into the subject a lot. Every school seems to have the same policy : they just want you to take advantage of as many opportunities as you can in your school. I am not able to choose my classes or class levels, but I can take up to two optional supplemental classes, and that's what I did! That's all they can ask of you.

It shouldn't disadvantage you since your school doesn't offer AP courses.
