I'm a Sophmore and interested in the field but don't know exactly what I should be doing to stand out from other candidates. For example what extracurriculars should I be doing or what summer camps I should attend?
Since your desired field is leaning towards STEM, I suggest building up your profile by focusing on these aspects. This can mean taking harder courses in Bio or Math, being involved in activities that highlights your interest in engineering or biology, and creating an overall theme for your profile around this topic. Showing commitment in extracurriculars is something admission counselors want to see, so if you can stay involved in a STEM related activity for 3-4 years, then that would greatly help! :-)
