Supplemental essays, What does it mean to engage with difference?
Answered

One of the supplemental essay prompts is the following: Reflecting on a part of your identity (for example, your culture, race, ability status, sex, gender identity/expression, sexual orientation, national origin, political affiliation, religion, age, or veteran status, etc.), share with us an experience where you engaged with difference.

I'm at a loss. I have an idea of what they might want but I can't find how to put it into words to even explain it here.

Its kinda what it says on the tin. Talk about a time when you interacted with a non-you group. Non you could be other religion disabled etc. This is a place to talk about how you promoted diversity.

Just answer with how you would explain your high school experience being as it was vs. how it could have been had you been born in a different social class or of different race. When I get stuck I tend to ask a question that relates to what they want and then answer it as though it is something they actually asked of me. 👍
