You should take them if your school offers them.

You don't have to if your school don't.

Hi!

Quoting everyone else's answers, no, you don't have to if they are not offered. I am also an international student and my school does not offer AP, IB or any honours class. Colleges will look at your classes based on what was available to you in your school.

Hope this helps!

If your school offers them it is a good idea to, if your school doesn't offer them then colleges won't care if you didn't take any.

No, you don't. Schools won't really look at AP/IB/Honours if your current school doesn't enrol students in them.

If your school offers them, then take them because they'll make your transcript look better. If your school does not offer them, I can give you suggestions on how to still impress colleges. First, you can take summer courses from colleges. Make sure you choose the courses that relate to what you want to major in. Second, you can take an AP exam at another school. You can self-study for it. I'm sure there are a ton of books/other resources that can help for each AP class. Hope this helps!
