I'm currently a junior in a High school in North Carolina and want to major in some kind of pre-Med studies. (Either biological sciences or neuroscience.) I'm half- Latin and including this year I will have taken 5 AP classes (my school doesn’t allow frehshman to take APs.) I also have a 4.42 weighted Gpa and a 3.93 unweighted. I play a Varsity sport and when I graduate (2023) I will have played on the varsity team for 3 years. I am a member in 4 clubs that speak to me personally, one of which I am the Vice President, and I also do peer tutoring. All my stats considered, this is my current school list:
I'm looking for a school with good clinical research opportunities, and an intimate campus environment. I would prefer them to be relatively close to my home state but as long as it’s in the east coast I’ll consider it.
I just need suggestions of safety schools or any other schools that might be suitable.
Reach: Yale, Duke, Columbia, Johns Hopkins, Brown
Hard Target: Northwestern, Vanderbilt
Target: UNC Chapel Hill, Boston college, UMichigan Ann Arbor
Safety: NC state, UNC Wilmington, Clemson University, Emory University
I'm excited to hear your suggestions! Thanks!
I immediately thought of Duke and Johns Hopkins when I heard pre-med for East Coast so I am glad you have those on your list. If I am not mistaken I may suggest looking at either Georgetown, Rutgers University, University of Maryland, or Boston University, maybe even harder. I'm not sure specifically how there programs operate but I think they might be good programs to look into. I hope this helps, I'm not sure if west coast is appealing to you, im thinking either berkeley or pomona.
