Admissions Advice

as a foregain student, what are the requirements to get into a public college?

hey everyone! I'm new at this, and I'm considering studying up in NY. I'm from Chile, and I'm wondering about the requirements, like any information about financial aids, convalidation of studies, what test should I take (as a non-native-English-speaker). that's it, thanks in advance!

I am assuming that you are referring to NYU when you say that you are considering studying in New York.

Specs:

For your GPA, the average at New York University is 3.6, which means you should aim for at least 3.7 to increase your chances of admission. The average SAT score is 1440, which is very competitive. The average ACT score at NYU is 31, which converts to about 1400 on the SAT.

General financial aid information:

As far as financial aid, you can look online for scholarship websites and/or scholarships specifically for students applying to NYU. Because of NYU's size, there will be quite a few scholarships that you can apply for and possibly win.

Application:

NYU is a fairly competitive university, so you need to have several high-level ECs, several AP and honors classes, and good scores on AP exams. In summary, you need to take the ACT or the SAT (for NYU I'd suggest the ACT, but if possible take both), boost your GPA to 3.7, enroll in AP classes, and get a few good EC activities on your resume.

Good luck, hope this helps.
