should i do band in college?

Hey! im a 9th grader currently, ive been in the high school marching band every since 6th grade and i dont plan on having music as one of my professions but my mom says thats a really good scholarship but i still dont know i just need some advice

Thanks for your question - in this case, I completely agree with @gracecatan! Regardless of whether you plan to have a career in music, if marching band is something you enjoy, you should continue to participate in it (also, depending on your high school, you might be able to get out of P.E. if you want)! However, if you're just doing it to have another extracurricular, chances are you won't enjoy it, and there's no reason for you to be miserable when your high school probably has a ton of other activities you can commit to and enjoy! You're still early in your high school career, so you have a ton of time to figure out what you like and don't like and shape your high school career to be both enjoyable and college-oriented!
