Hi! How should I describe my activities in the common app? Specifically sports. I understand recognition but, for example, if I do cross country do I just say I run?

If you run on your high school cross country team, then you do the following:
Activity type Select Athletics JV/Varsity if it your HS team, or Club Team if it's outside school.
Sport/team - Select Cross Country
Position/Leadership description Select whether you are the team captain or not.

Organization Name Write in "ABC High School Varsity Girls Cross Country"
(Max characters: 100)
Please describe this activity, including what you accomplished and any recognition you received, etc.
(Max characters: 150)
Write in any award or honors you earned from participating in the Cross Country.
Participation grade levels Check off which years you did Cross Country.
