Admissions Advice

can you join the National Honor Society if your school doesn't offer a NHS chapter.

I go to a private school which isn't recognized by the College Board. We don't have any connection with the NHS and I was wondering if there was another way for me to sign up for NHS.

Hi @jo1291! You may be able to find organizations in your community that are similar to National Honor Society. For example, you could find something in partnership with your local Rotary Club because they do a lot of outreach work.

However, the title of being in NHS is not very important or necessary on your application. I would recommend finding organizations/community service activities that are meaningful to you. Your leadership roles in those will be much more impressive than the title of being in NHS. Hope that helps!
