What are key things to include in a design portfolio? What should I avoid? Where do you submit them?

Avoid repetition in your works, include the design process (from sketch to completed work), and have personality. Have a little descriptor for some to include your thought process or what the design is for. You can try multimedia to give your portfolio some variety (use cut-up magazine pages for example). Try not to look too much at other works online or you might start to feel stuck. The important part is to put art you had fun with and feel confident in.
