So I tried multiple times to change my profile picture to a picture of me, but it keeps showing a picture from the gmail account linked to here. It's really annoying.

It happens to me as well. I am trying to see if changing the profile picture of my Gmail account will be able to update here. I think it should take a bit of time (about 2-3 days). I'll let you know if what I did works or not.
