I’m in the ninth grade, with a 4.0 uw gpa, I’m also first in my class rank. My dream school is University of Chicago or Boston University. I’m an officer in my school’s FBLA chapter and a member of the FFA chapter along with the Book Club. I’m also starting a HOSA chapter as I hope to major in Biology or Chemistry.
Is there anything else I should be doing to get into these colleges?
I believe you're already doing an outstanding job in and out of classes. A perfect GPA and proof of being an active participant inside the school community is something that all colleges consider as extremely important when reviewing applications. If I were to give you my sincere advice, however, is to value, during the 4 years at high school, what is really important for your personal development apart from the things you need to perform to improve your chances of being admitted. Don't take a bunch of AP classes only because it's going to look good on your resume, but rather focus on your passions and try to make the best out of them. If there's one thing that colleges value about applicants is their authenticity.
Looks like you have great grades and great EC's. As a 9th grader, you don't have a lot of pressure to get stuff done fast but you should start preparing for the ACT and SAT as well as broadening your EC's. A lot of colleges don't take a GPA as seriously as you might expect so look up your prospective colleges and see what their requirements are and try to fulfill them. Good Luck!
