Hey,
I am an international student from Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. I am taking a gap year after having completed the IB Diploma Programme. I have my final grades from the IB and so, my question is, what grades will universities give more importance to, my final DP grades or my school transcript?
Hi, thank you for asking your question! In the US, most schools will offer IB diploma classes within their curriculum, meaning that these grades are incorporated into the overall calculation of the GPA. If you are curious how to calculate your GPA please see this online calculator.
That being said, if the IB program you are apart of does not give class grades, and is not affiliated with the teaching at your high school, then you cannot factor these grades into your GPA calculation. This would mean that only the courses you have taken in the context of your high school environment will count towards the GPA.

I am an international student and my school does not have a GPA system. The thing with my school is that there are no other courses except the IB Classes that are offered. So, it is just the IB Diploma Classes that we do. My transcript would only contain the grades from (1-7) of my IB Diploma Classes. How would that be taken into GPA context?
