i want to take a course at a community college during my Spring semester but i dont know if i should take a course for pleasure or one that will earn me credits for when I start college in the fall. They all interest me but i know that i can update colleges on these classes i decide to take. The classes i was thinking of were “history of rock music”, “college success and lifelong learning”, or “intro to chicana/o studies”. Which one should i take?
In my experience, taking the class that you think you will enjoy the most is the best course of action. The "college success and lifelong learning" course would be the most practical and useful one, but maybe you could research the syllabus and see if you would actually be learning anything new from it. The "history of rock music" course sounds fun and if you include it in your applications, it might help the colleges see a bit more of your true personality. The "intro to chicana/o studies" also sounds incredibly interesting and that's not a course that you see provided by a lot of colleges, so it might be a good idea to grasp the opportunity now. It all depends on what you want to do and what high school classes you are already taking. If you're already feeling swamped with a lot of hard and workload heavy classes, then just take whatever course you think you will enjoy the most. Getting college credits is good but having fun and enjoying your education is also incredibly important to your well-being, so choose whatever course you know you will enjoy and you will truly appreciate taking.
