For Law - many schools look for strong writing skills. Many English and History majors go to law school. So, if you like writing, then entering the Scholastic Art and Writing competition is a good place to start. They have regional and national awards. For history - there is the national history day competition and the profiles in courage competition. If you go into college confidential and search prestigious awards and/or summer programs you will come across a thread of all of them ranked from most prestigious to less so. Hope this helps.
