I am a homeschooled sophomore, and I haven't taken any AP courses so far (at least none that are accredited by the college board).
What are some online AP courses I can take to strengthen my college applications? How many should I take?
Hi @anonymous335! You can take AP courses through edx (linked here: https://www.edx.org/learn/ap). Even if you choose not to formally take an AP class, you can self-study for the AP exams with prep books, YouTube videos, and the course videos on edx.
In terms of how many AP courses you should take, that is dependent on the schools you are aiming for. For higher ranked schools, taking more AP classes will look great on your application because they will demonstrate to admissions officers that you are capable of handling college-level classes.
Hope that helps!
Hi! I am a public schooled junior, but in my sophomore year I took APCSA with Florida Virtual School at home and it was really good. I just registered to take the exam at my school and I was able to get a 5 (I don't mean to say this in a bragging way, just to say that the program I took it with was very good and prepared me well). Idk how many other AP Courses they offer but I also took Latin I, II, & III with them and the courses are very nice for self-learning and all that. How many you should take is up to you, and can be decided on the factors of whether you like the ap subject you're taking or how many outside extracurriculars you have.
Hey, it usually depends on the degree you're going to pursuit in college, but there appears to be some Online AP courses at edX. Here's the link if you want to check them out:
