How does karma work?
The system is simple: you receive karma (sort of like a credit) when you help others. If you're short on karma, you can do any of the following to earn more:
- 1 karma for each 👍 upvote on a question you post
- 1 karma for each 👍 upvote on an answer you post
if your answer is marked accepted
- 10 karma for reviewing an essay
- 10 karma if your essay review is rated 5 ⭐️
You can then use your karma to submit an essay for review or guarantee an expert answer on Q&A.
I'd highly suggest Microsoft's High School Internship but applications are closed for the current wave of interns, try cold-calling local SMEs (Small to Medium Enterprises) to ask about potential internship openings. Another option would be that you start your own business during the last few years of high-school and your college years.
So my high school is in city with a population of around about 500k borderline top 50 in population. There is an organization called intern-city name that connects high school students to paid internships your city may have something like that. Or if you have connections to an organization such as family friend your family you might be able to get an internship there as big companies will usually accept more family connections or you could volunteer at your parents company.
Though jobs especially if you get a supervisor role eventually it could be weighed the same as an internship
