I am writing a challange essay but I do not know how to imrove my narrative skills.
Yes that's such a great idea! Worked very well for me.
I think the "College Essay Guy" website includes a guide on narrative writing for college essays. I recommend checking it out, and his other guides too. The site includes examples, brainstorming worksheets, and ways you can write a narrative essay. It'll help you set up at least a structure for your essay. Outside of these guides, I found that pretending to present a story in my life as if I was in front of an audience helped me initially get my ideas down to paper. This was just something that worked for me though, I saw others mention examining examples and I think that would work too.

For me, storytelling never came easily. The only thing I'd advise you to do is look at good essays with good writing. Obviously, you cant copy them but I found that I got many ideas for my own writing that came from just that. Not in a way that you regurgitate it but internalize it for your own topic.
