HELP!!

In my teacher recs, my teachers wrote that I wanted to go into stem and be a doctor. However, I changed my mind and reported a very different major and career to the colleges. Will this discrepancy be confusing or hurt my chances at top colleges? My counselor says it will not but I am worried (please be honest)

Hi, thank you for asking your question. Unfortunately, this will send a mixed message to colleges who read that letter of recommendation. That being said, if being in STEM and a doctor is still similar to your new interests you may be fine. If you are truly concerned, you are able to call up the admissions offices at the schools where the LOR was submitted and request that it be removed from your file, hopefully before it is reviewed.
