American is my top school right now but I want to make sure it is a good fit socially. As of now I don’t want to join a sorority and I can be a little shy at times.
As a Georgetown alum who visited American University every once in a while, I can say that American has a big school feel and different social scenes that cater to everyone. Partying and Greek life do not dominate campus life as much as they do at say, Dartmouth, but American does have more options for those types of activities than Georgetown. You will definitely be able to make friends who also don't want to join a sorority and aren't too extroverted.
American has well-funded student organizations, and many social events happen through them. Since American's campus is fairly spread out, American students hang out throughout the DC area too. Hope this helps!
