Could UVA/Ivies reject me just for not taking physics?
Answered

Hi! My current CV chances at UVA are 54% and I am also a legacy.

My science path is like this: Honors bio -> honors chemistry -> ib bio hl1 -> ib bio hl2

I am applying for an economics major, and I cannot fit physics in my schedule because IB Bio HL is a two year course. Do I need to worry about not taking physics for getting into UVA? What about the ivy league?

Thanks!

Also in IB taking Bio HL! Physics isn't super important- I think the main thing ivies are looking for is overall academic performance, test scores, and commitment to extracurriculars/ community work. It is insanely hard to get into an ivy league school regardless of if you take physics or whatever else. Also, it depends on your major. If you want to major in engineering, physics is something they'd look for. Economics, not so much. Your chances at UVA probably won't be affected by your legacy status because it's a public university, but I don't think they'd care if you took physics or something else. Again, it depends on your major.
