What does JROTC count as in Collegevine? Sports, leadership, community service?
Answered

I'm trying to fill out my extracurricular applications on my profile, but I can't seem to accurately place JROTC as an extracurricular. I've used it to fill out my PF credits on my transcript, but I'm also deeply involved in it as well; e.g. I've been in the program since my freshman year and I'm the sole Administrative Officer in my company, as well as the equivalent of a cadet E-8 and a candidate for Top 3 (CO/XO/CMC). I've also earned several regional and sponsored awards, such as the MOFW for Leadership. If anyone can help me with this, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thank you!!! <33

I would categorize your JROTC involvement as an interest club. This is not a perfect category for your involvement, but it is technically the closest one. Since JROTC is not a sport, it is not solely a community service activity, and there is not a broad leadership category in the CollegeVine EC list system, you could classify it as a military interest club. I think that you could then rank your level of achievement in JROTC as Tier 2a. Hope this helps!
