I have a friend who is currently a college senior, 36 ACT, in 2 varsity sports, and other extracurriculars as well. She applied ED to madison i think and still hasn’t heard if she got in yet! We live in a state that has state reciprocity with wisconsin for context, but does anyone know why madison hasn’t accepted/denied people like her yet? I know several people with significantly less extracurriculars, worse grades, etc who have gotten in, what’s happening!
Greetings halleparker,
Exceptional all-around students are a dime a dozen. UW Madison is a large college and cannot accept everyone. I know people who have received acceptance letters from some Ivy League colleges but not state colleges. Read this article below for more context:

Hi Eric! are you talking about how some schools will kind of assume these super smart, involved etc kids will not attend the school because they will likely go to more prestigious colleges? i’ve heard about that a few times.
