Should I take orchestra junior and senior year?
Answered

I am not very good at the violin and have no chance of getting into honors orchestra. I am struggling even with a tutor to help me. It would also free up some space to take more advanced AP classes. But it is a fun class, I have a lot of friends in that class.

If you genuinely enjoy the class, I recommend just continuing. I found myself in the same predicament not long ago when I had to choose between staying in an orchestra class or doubling up due to some scheduling issues from the previous years. Ultimately, I had decided to keep my orchestra class because it not only relieved some of the pressure and anxiety but I was also able to spend more time with my friends and learn in a not so stressful environment.

I am currently taking the equivalent of Honors Orchestra at my school and I find it very enjoyable getting to play with my friends every day. Even if you aren't in an honors orchestra being involved in a humanities program at your school may look beneficial on your college resume. However, if you feel that it would look better to take another AP class that may be beneficial, but if you are already taking several AP classes it may be beneficial in diversifying your resume. Overall it's up to you but hopefully you're successful either way!
