Extracurricular Advice?
Answered

So, I'm a Sophomore, and my time to pick and improve my activities before applications is slowly coming to an end. I'm currently involved in a state-level volunteer thing and will be coming up on 6 years in the program. I have some sports, Visual Arts, work experience and a small business to put on my Common App, but I feel like I'm still missing something. Any advice for programs to try, or clubs/groups to join?

Do what you’re enthusiastic about and run with it. If your volunteering thing is something that you love, maybe start a club that is related to that topic? Colleges like to see that you were invested in a specific niche and did a lot of stuff with it. Also, maybe find a summer program that ties all of your interests together (like for me, I’m into child care and psychology so I plan on finding a summer program to do child development research)

Create a school club of some sort. Something politically correct and popular. Try to stay away from controversial topics.
