Colorado College Acceptance rate hit record low of 11.50% down from 14.25%
This cycle 1266 applicants out of 11007 were admitted to the Class of '26.
Last cycle 1556 applicants out of 10917 were admitted.
To me, this is further evidence that there are high achieving HS students are settling for 2nd and 3rd tier schools because there are not enough seats at the table at top 25 schools to meet the demand. Even though the application numbers are similar year over year, taking nearly 300 or 19% fewer students means that yield rates were higher last cycle and they recognize that they only have to admit 1266 student to fill the remaining seats.
I'm not saying CC does this, but another way to manipulate rankings and admit rates is to waitlist a bunch of students or give them deferred admissions letters where they have to go somewhere else for a semester or two and then matriculate.
