Is FPS a “highly prestigious national level individual competition”?

Is winning FPS International competition a tier A accomplishment? I don’t know whether it falls under this category even though it’s well-established and international, because I don’t know what counts as “prestigious” the way colleges/the collegevine algorithm sees it.

It depends - did you win a state, regional, or national-level accomplishment or were you simply a participant? was it individual or team based? The level of Tier accomplishment is based on how well YOU did, not the level of accomplishment that the ORGANIZATION provides. So you would participate in a global competition but not achieve that global-scale recognition that is required for a Tier A. Can you just describe a little bit what the competition was like and what awards you won from it?

Myself and 3 teammates placed 2nd at our state competition (out of ~20 teams) then 1st at the international competition (out of 60+ teams from several states and countries). FPS is Future Problem Solving, we have 2 hours after being given a scene from the future to go through a process and propose a solution, this year’s topic was terraforming. Hope that helps.

wow, that’s awesome. 1st place of 60 teams on an int’l level is tier a quality :,)
