My daughter was accepted to University of Michigan, Brandeis and University of Rochester but no merit scholarship. We live New England area. I see the premed ranking in Collegevine but there are no details available on the criteria for the ranking for these colleges. Looking for advice on the order of colleges for premed studies.
Hi @vijayakumar_s99!
We have more info on methodology in the blog versions of that list. But in short, the ranking includes med school admissions rates, GPA, MCAT support, and research opportunities. Here's the most recent blog: https://blog.collegevine.com/best-non-ivy-pre-med-schools/
Those schools are all pretty close, so I'd recommend focusing more on which school best fits your daughter's ideal college experience. For example, would she rather attend a large, research-focused state school like UMich, or a smaller, tightly-knight liberal arts college like Brandeis? Attending a school you feel comfortable with will make a bigger difference in one's education than a slight difference in rankings. Also, while your daughter may not have received a merit scholarship, she could still be eligible for different financial aid packages at each school.
Hope that helps! Let me know if you have any questions.
