I actually used the simulator was was shocked that I had that many safety schools. My GPA is 3.7 weighted because I took a lot of honors and AP. My GPA unfortunately went down in my junior year because the were very challenging. I will probably end up with C+ in AP classes. That said, i actually put in my stats and it said colleges like Rutgers have a 90% acceptance. However when i google, they say rutgers wants higher GPA's 3.9 and above. Wondering if there is an issue with the chancing calculator or can I actually get in.
3.7 is not that far off. and if your application looks otherwise fair you have a good chance of getting in.
So the calculator is taking in other factors besides GPA. This would obviously include your extracurriculars, course difficulty, and standardized test scores: Assuming you filled them out.
Also GPA's are done differently, and it is possible that the way it is done at that particular website that appears when you google is different than how collegevine has done the data, or could be entirely different than the data collegevine received.
Ultimately, the calculator is most likely accurate per your situation minus any mistakes on your end. Double check and you're set! Remember although your chances are extremely high, there are outliers to the admission processes.
(However if it truly is 90% you're practically guaranteed in with good essays and letters of recommendation)
