Good AP to self study in Freshman Year

I was thinking of taking an AP class in Freshman Year. Unfortunately, this will have to be outside of the school so I will be self studying. Are there any particular APs which might be too hard to self study for? AP CS Principles is what I was most interested in.

I would definitely avoid any science APs if you don't have an educator to help you out, they typically know exactly what you're going to be seeing and there are many concepts you need to fully understand in order to pass. My advice would be to do something English or hobby-based- English is an AP subject that you really just have to do a good job at analyzing and writing, and hobby-based APs (such as music theory, art, computer science) are APs that are more enjoyable and motivating to study for. If you like Computer Science, you should definitely look into taking that- look up what was in old tests and get a good idea of what you're going to be expected to do.

Good luck!

definitely don't take a science class online unless it's AP Psychology which I think is easier online than in person. AP Microeconomics is a good one to take online even with no background in the subject. I didn't take AP CS but I took reg CS online and personally it was a really great experience especially online!
