Extracurriculars
Answered

I’m currently a high school junior who has a fairly strong academic profile. my biggest problem is extracurriculars. i’ve been so focused on school that i haven’t had time to do much else except volunteer a couple hours each week. i don’t have much time so Does anyone have any suggestions for things i can do over the summer or incorporate with school?

Hello,

Volunteering is a good way to get colleges to notice you. Even if it is just 2-3 hours a day helping the humane society, or garbage cleaning. It will show you are an active part of your community and you are compassionate, as well as useful; helpful.

Honestly just find something that you love to do. If you like robotics join a team, if you enjoy sports find a team, literally just find something you are passionate about and participate. While you might not have a lot of time just give it what you've got. Don't stress either colleges understand that life is busy.

I think you can try to practice on some of the activities you tried before. I think you can try tennis, badminton, volleyball, or ping pong. Or you can try to learn a new instrument. I suggest you can try recorder, ukulele. These instruments are not that difficult, and it is easy to learn.
