Carnegie Mellon University announces its admit rate - sort of @ 11.26% down from 13.54%

Yesterday the Dean of CMU stated 2 facts. 1. Applications increased 4% this year, and 2. CMU admitted 600 less students than last cycle. Since I keep track of these things, I determined that the Class of '26 application pool was 34212 vs 32896 last cycle and the admit pool was 3853 vs 4453 last year. This makes the admit rate at a record low of 11.25% close to what Emory, WashU , Hamilton and Georgetown are. Compared to the CMU Class of 2021 at 22. 2%, the current admit rate has halved making it twice has hard as it was just 5 years ago.
