Any ideas for ECs?
Answered

Hi again... I'm a bit worried about my extracurricular activities since there aren't a lot of opportunities for those under 18. I was wondering, are there any ECs I can do at hone or online, that would still be good enough for admission into college?

I'm open to any ideas since I have a lot of time ahead of before senior year.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

P.s. I'm also an International student.

some great ecs that are online are some online tutoring places. there are some websites that will allow you to tutor young kids in subjects. another great ec online is taking online classes or learning a languge online. there are many options. there are even some pre college online programs you can take. also check out your local libray for some online options. vouleenterring is another great ec option that many colleges love to see.

Hello @Aileen, I understand your concern. However, there should be lots of different ECs opportunities for ones under 18. That could be your volunteer hours, employment, music/art experiences, pre-colleges, academic competitions, club participation, Honors Society, or even your own initiative activities.

I'm not sure what your field interest is, but here is a complete list of ECs for High School Students: https://blog.collegevine.com/your-complete-list-of-extracurricular-activities

Here is a list of prestigious summer programs: https://blog.collegevine.com/most-prestigious-summer-programs-for-high-school-students/

I hope this information helps :)

I'm not too sure if you are a sports person but if you have time before senior year I would say try cheer, basketball, soccer, softball, etc. Any sport will look good! Not only will it look good college wise but it's also an opportunity for you to make new friends and even get out of your comfort zone.

you can try coding your own app, or joining a volunteer chapter organization online! maybe you'll get curious and start your own personal research project! or, you can participate in competitions that require online submission! take advantage of the fact that we're still in a pandemic, as a lot of organizations are still operating online :) good luck!
