Books for my common app essay?

Basically, I made a challenge with myself to read 100 books during 2020. I ended up achieving that goal and have since then, continued reading but not as much. I’ve always liked reading and I am planning to major in English. Would this be a good common app essay topic? Also, what would be some good things to talk about in this essay? Thanks!!

I think this would be a good essay topic. Make sure you talk about how you made a goal that fit your interests, stepping stones and stumbling blocks on your way to achieving it, and how you've kept the habit up since then. It's the classic "a challenge you've overcome" essay prompt, except make sure you specify how you set the challenge for yourself. Talk about how you're self motivated as well with that.

Also, I'd say you could talk about how your personal interests are affecting your educational and professional interests in this essay.
