My school doesn't offer AP or IB; are my chances hurt by this
Answered

I'm in 11th grade; I have all A's. And I have a 3.9 GPA. When the time comes, I'm applying to Ball State. My school does offer Honors classes, and I am taking at least 2 or 3 of them. My school also offers dual credit, if that helps. And I've already taken at least 2 dual credits, and I'm taking more my senior year. I also should mention I'm taking at least another Honors class my senior year. Collegevine said my coursework needs improvement, but my school doesn't offer AP. When the time comes to apply to college, will this hurt my chances?

It can but I would try and do independent research and do online classes or something of the sort for AP classes and then explain to the admissions that your school didn't offer those courses and tell them how you were proactive on your own to teach yourself what the school didn't offer, as they are always looking for that sort of proactiveness in learning.

heyyy so colleges will definetly take a look at what classes are offered in your school. if you have an abundance of honors/ap classes at your school but you choose not to take them, that will definitely hurt you. but if you do not have any ap/honors at your school then it wont count against you. colleges receive the classes that you could have chosen from.
