Answered

Do i have a chance in getting into a college? I'm asian/female by the way and i know that plays into my acceptance and i also know it's harder for foreigners to get into college here, anyways I'm going to become a junior and here are my stats currently

- have taken 2 aps, ap stats and ap world (haven't gotten my score yet, had As in both class)

- have a 4.0

- i do dance, debate team (will be co captain next year), and academic team

- I'm planning on taking ap bio, ap calc ab, & ap push for junior next yr while also taking ap english over the summer

- got a 1200 on the psat

-im taking an engineering program

-i have taken 2 NASA programs online (i got accepted into a summer academy but couldn't go because i wasn't a citizen :(

by the end of the school year, I'm probably going to take about 10 aps (school offers 18), 2 dual enrolled classes

Hi! There is no federal or state law that prohibits the admission of undocumented immigrants to U.S. colleges, public or private, so you should be fine! Especially with your stats, you are on a great trajectory and could be looking at some of the top schools in the country! My only advice is regarding your extracurriculars, build a more focused resume for your area of interest (if its STEM, those NASA and engineering programs are great!) Lastly, don't worry too much about college acceptance, most schools do not consider or discriminate based on citizenship, and any school that does isn't worth your time.

You can still apply but make sure you are able to finish 4 years of college before your 21 years old. Since at 21 you are considered an independent adult and can’t stay on your parent’s visa. You would in turn have to apply for a student visa which is a hit or miss. Depending on your green card status you can opt out of that rule.

I’m on the same boat but I opted out of that rule. I’m not too sure on what its called but it doesn’t stop you from applying to colleges in the US. You would just be considered an International student, I believe.
