Ok, I have a question about scheduling conflicts. Currently, my schedule is this:
AP Lang
Spanish IV
AP Chemistry
AP Calculus AB
However, I can’t take Physics because of scheduling conflicts and can’t take APUSH. Should I drop Spanish to take APUSH? Should I drop AP Calc to take Physics? Do colleges understand that some students have scheduling conflicts?
Thank you! Any advice is appreciated.
Hey Jess! I would suggest that you keep the classes that relate best to your intended major in college. If your intended major is scientific or medical-related, keep AP calculus and chemistry so your college application is strong. If you are unsure about your major, drop Spanish for APUSH so colleges know you like to challenge yourself. At the end of the day, choose the classes you will enjoy. I hope this helps! :)
I do not think anyone here can tell you what do about your schedule because we don't know what the rest of your transcript looks like, what your academic narrative is, what kind of colleges you are looking to apply to, what grade you are in, and what major you are trying to apply into.
Therefore, it would be much better to wait until you can either have a one on one conference with your HS counselor when you get back to school or schedule a one on one conference with a College Vine counselor/expert who can digest all of your information and make a recommendation.

Good luck.
Hello,
From what I know whichever courses align more with what you intend to study in college I would suggest taking those. If you are a rising junior, you can take those classes senior year. It doesn't hurt to take AP Calc AB over Physics since there are 4 different AP Physics. Also, I have taken APUSH and it was extremely difficult for me, I did take it in my sophomore year however so that probably had an impact, but you don't have to take them as soon as possible and pack up your schedule, make sure to put some fun classes in too. Hope this helps.

Yes, thank you! I’m just worried because colleges like to see 4 years of sciences, but I just can’t take both physics and AP Calc at my school, unless I want to get out of AP Lang. Do you think colleges will expect you to do online school for it, then?
