I was wondering what are some of the ways that I can find internships for this summer, as I have only seen people get internships through personal connections.
If you live near a community college, state college, or university, I would try reaching out to someone working in a program tailored to finding their students internships. They're often willing to help.
Also, you can reach out to political candidates in your area. They often need help campaigning or in their office, and many are open to taking on high school interns.
If there is a company in your area that is in a career field that you're interested in, you can try reaching out to them, too. If there is no one nearby, contact a company and ask about virtual internships.
Finally, (and I'm sorry this is so much) check out websites tailored to finding internships. Internships.com and Idealist.org have tons of internship postings.
I hope this helps!!
Hello! I would encourage you to check out an amazing STEM summer internship program for high school students called Aspiranut. It is a paid 6-week internship that places high school students in Vanderbilt University Medical Center laboratories. Find out more here: https://aspirnaut.org/high-school-internships/
Here are some CollegeVine resources that can help you in your internship search. There certainly are opportunities out there for you!
- Political science internships
- Computer science internships
Hope this helps!
