Hello there,
I'm going to be an upcoming senior this fall, so during the summer, I was wondering if there are any open internships, volunteering, or any opportunities (competitions) I could do as a senior to improve my chances in the extra-curricular activities section where I can boost my chances in getting accepted to top colleges. I tend to pursue a major in the engineering field, so my eyes are on robotics, STEM projects, engineering, etc. If any one has any thoughts or recommendations, feel free to let me know!
Thanks so much!
Hey! I am also a rising senior planning on applying for an engineering major, and I found a simple tutoring job helped a lot. Like stated in other responses, it's hard to find an internship in STEM fields because a lot of them require more education and experience, but there are a lot of tutoring jobs that end up looking really good on applications/resumes like Kumon, Mathnasium, and CodeNinjas (if you know any coding languages). Additionally, if you have the chance to take any STEM related classes/electives/clubs you should definitely do so because right now your coursework is still something you can put on your resume when applying for jobs/internships/colleges. You can also always reach out to companies and ask if there are any internship opportunities just incase one ends up having one good for you. Good luck!
Hi, based on my experience you may have difficulty finding internships as a high schooler. I have tried looking for one over the past year, and many places have told me that they only offer it to college students because they can use the internships to count towards college credits. I hope you have better luck than I do though!
