Can you list a competition you didn’t compete in but qualified for?
Answered

My team passed the preliminaries of a JROTC competition. We were in the top 40, but we couldn’t compete in the competition because our instructor got COVID. Can I still list this on my college resume?

All you can state on your college resume is that your team participated in the JROTC competition and did not finish. You can't assume anything else like winning.

COVID 19 canceled a lot of things. Even if your team went to the competition, you can't predict a future outcome. Your team may have placed anywhere between #1 and #40.

Qualifying in the top 40 is an achievement in itself! You should list it.
