What Common App essay topic should my idea go under?Answered
Hi! Rising senior here.. I think I want my essay topic to be about when I started up a charity for the homeless and how it changed my veiws and the lives of others.. but I'm not sure where I could put it or even if its a good topic.. any ideas?

Making the topic you want to write about connect well with some of your other extracurriculars gives it the chance to display a "central theme", making it a complete package. On the other hand, if your topic is unrelated to your extracurriculars, you could take advantage of that by showing a skill that would be more unexpected. For example: If a lot of your extracurriculars are more logic-based, then writing about an extracurricular that is more artistic-based (in your case, more humanitarian), then it can show that there is more to you than what meets the eye.
