How can I start an independent study at my school or engage In a research project?
Answered

I have always hated how homeless children in my community didn’t have access to education or the right resources for a good life. I joined non-profit organizations in my community and I am an ambassador in one of them. What can I do to show my passion in this topic?

One thing that I recommend doing is taking AP Research if your school offers it. The class will give you a good framework that you can use to conduct some valuable research about child homelessness. This blog post has some more tips on starting an independent research project.

Another great activity you could do is advocacy. Advocacy involves research and can create a more direct impact in your community and others. Advocacy is something you can do at home in many ways - for example, you could start a YouTube channel, write a blog, or organize a group to tell politicians about your cause. Hope this helps!
